Letter to You

Dear Beautiful Supporters,

When I started Cukinus it was about healing, on the surface at least, but honestly Cukinus became about my hurt. It became a way to announce to the world that I was okay. I wasn’t. Not yet. Not a year ago. Truth is, writing about trauma all the time is hard. Trauma is what we heal not what heals us. Cukinus is about imagination, which in a huge way it already was, about dreaming up the world we can bring our entire selves to, genitals and gender and all, and be safe and free. It is about authenticity. About rediscovering who it is that we are. It’s about not giving into the feeling that we are something to be discarded. In keeping with this theme of mine- CUKINUS IS PERFECT BECAUSE MY PARAMETERS SAY IT IS AND IT IS IMPERFECT BECAUSE I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO BE SO.

I thank you for your support and know I am so excited to bring you my vision this year. A Cukinus that is authentically everything that I am. The parts that needed healing, still resist healing, and the parts of me that are healed. I can’t bring something studied and honed or something well prepared and curated within an inch of its life. It simply won’t get done. I just want to write my journey and share it with you all. I hope that I can help someone, anyone feel seen and feel hope.

I often invite Cukinus followers to join me in some healing or wellness ritual, and in honor of that practice and reflecting a long history of resolutions that we take into the new year, please accept my invitation to redefine the parameter of perfect to simply showing up. Whether you want to write more, move more, or practice being living in your freedom. I welcome you to find your perfection in the showing up and the doing. We can save the skill part for next year!
